The minivan segment may be ripe with new offerings, but only the 2012 Honda Odyssey boasts class-leading fuel economy, best-possible safety ratings, and a number of high-tech features for the entire family.

Completely redesigned for 2011, the 2012 Honda Odyssey continues to offer a fresh, robust package, which is one reason why its so popular at Ontario Honda Dealerships. Fuel economy is one area where Honda’s venerable minivan really stands out from the competition. It achieves the highest EPA highway fuel economy rating for an eight-passenger minivan of 28 mpg for Odyssey Touring. With today’s gas prices, that figure is undoubtedly an attractive one for most families shopping in this segment.

Another important factor for minivan buyers is safety, and in that regard the Odyssey is no slouch either. All Odyssey models achieve the best possible safety ratings from both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) with a “Top Safety Pick” — an achievement that no other currently-tested minivan can match.

Like other Honda models, the 2012 Odyssey offers buyers tremendous value. According to Canon City Honda Dealership, it’s available with numerous features that today’s car buyers demand, including Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, the intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) with an 8-inch TFT screen, a 2-GB CD Library and a USB Audio Interface. Standard on the Odyssey Touring Elite is the state-of-the-art, factory-integrated rear entertainment system that includes an ultra-wide 16.2-inch flip-down LCD screen and a 12-speaker, 650-Watt sound system — perfect for long road trips with the family.

According to Used Honda Civic CT, powering all Odyssey models is a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM), which provides a balanced combination of performance, fuel economy and low emissions. The engine produces 248 horsepower (the most ever for Odyssey).

With the Odyssey, buyers can rest assured that they’re getting a solid product, and a number awards have been given to the new model to prove it, including:

  • About.com “Readers Choice Award” for the best minivan
  • ALG “2011 Residual Value Award for Best Multi-Purpose Vehicle”
  • Automobile Magazine “All-Star” award
  • Cars.com “Family Car of the Year,”
  • Edmunds.com “2011 Top Recommended(SM) vehicle” and “Best Retained Value Award” for a minivan
  • Edmunds InsideLine “Editor’s Most Wanted(SM)” award for 2011
  • Kelley Blue Book “Top 10 Family Cars” for 2011 and “Best Redesigned Vehicle for 2011″

Look for more on the 2012 Honda Odyssey at Honda Maryland or your local Honda dealership.

Just saw the best video ever of the Honda Odyssey. It’s the first video that ever depicted the minivan the way I actually use it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbN442jDlHw
