The 2011 Honda Odyssey, which was just introduced in September, is already performing well against other minivans. Sales of the new minivan are up nearly 50 percent over last year’s sales of the old model.
According to Automotive News, the redesigned Odyssey is a bright spot in Honda’s lineup. The automaker’s new minivan along with the Pilot and CR-V are performing exceedingly well in today’s value-oriented market.
In November alone, the all-new 2011 Odyssey continued to build momentum in its second full month of sales with 8,805 units, up 31.7 percent. That’s an impressive feat considering the competition, which includes the completely redesigned Toyota Sienna. Nissan’s all-new 2011 Quest was also unveiled last month.
While 2010 has been a rocky year for Honda, the automaker expects to have a highly successful 2011. To help defray the price of a new car, many customers will be trading-in a used Honda. New Haven is a strong market for used and new Hondas. New versions of the Civic and CR-V are due in the next six months, while a completely redesigned Accord is slated for mid-2012. And, with the new Odyssey still going strong, Honda’s light truck sales are expected to see continued growth.
