Honda Launches Blog for Honda Insight

Automakers are still getting a hang of blogging. Blogs are a unique medium that enable two-way communication, but large auto brands seem to have only recently grasped the benefits that result from entrusting a brand with consumers via a blog.

Thanks to the unique benefits of blog communication, Honda has developed a blog specially covered its latest hybrid offering, the Honda Insight. Honda wanted an online environment where consumers could ask questions and comment about the new Honda Insight and about Honda’s hybrid technology. The blog is also intended to help train Honda dealers like Carson Honda dealers to better communicate the features, benefits, and technologies found within the new Insight when it arrives in showrooms this month.

American Honda Motor believes that the new blog, called Latest Insight, will help to better formulate messages that need to be expressed about the new Insight hybrid. While Honda is certainly known for embracing technology, including innovative online technologies, the Latest Insight blog is the first official blog launched for a Honda vehicle. Honda Kenner believes that having such a blog indicates the importance of the Insight within Honda’s diverse product lineup. In addition, part of what fueled its creation was a desire to set the record straight when it came to inevitable comparisons of the Toyota Prius and the new Honda Insight.

The Prius and Insight comparisons have surrounded the new Insight since it was first unveiled. Many critics say the Insight resembles the Prius a little too much. Honda used the Latest Insight blog to explain that the teardrop shape of the Insight is a design cue that is uniquely Honda, and Honda Washington DC dealers contend that this is evident in numerous Honda vehicles over the past 20 years.

Assisting the development of the Latest Insight blog was Honda’s advertising agency, RPA. The agency was excited to utilize the blog because it was push messaging. Readers would ask questions and express opinions and truly interact with the content.

Another important aspect of the new Honda Insight blog is that is supports diverse content. From photos, to video, to interviews with Honda executives, Latest Insight offers a variety of insider information, along with consumer observations, which Honda Denver says ideally compliments Honda’s brand. Compared with other tactics, shoppers among Honda Long Beach dealers feel the blog avoids a one-way delivery of information that they perceive to hamper interactivity.

With official information and two-way dialogue, Honda hopes that consumers can become better informed about the exciting new Insight hybrid, and hopefully they also build a stronger relationship with potential Honda customers.
