by Honda in the News on February 9, 2012

With six vehicles earning seven different honors this year from the American Council for an Energy-efficient Economy (ACEEE), Honda led all other auto brands and placed multiple entries on ACEEE’s “Greenest Vehicles” list for the 14th consecutive year.

Receiving that top recognition for Honda:

  • Honda Civic Natural Gas—Still the only dedicated CNG passenger car built by an OEM and assembled in the U.S., the Civic Natural Gas is now available at 197 dealerships in 36 states.
  • Honda Insight—The Insight delivers EPA marks of 41 mpg city/44 mpg highway/42 mpg combined and an MSRP of $18,350, and is the least-expensive hybrid in America.
  • Honda Civic Hybrid—Showcasing fuel-economy ratings of 44 mpg city/44 mpg highway/44 mpg combined, the Civic Hybrid also was recently honored by Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com for having the Best Resale Value in its class.
  • Honda CR-Z—The CR-Z satisfies enthusiasts as the first production hybrid with a six-speed manual transmission, and it appeals to conservationists with an EPA line that can reach 35 mpg city/39 mpg highway/37 mpg combined.

Three Honda vehicles also were named ACEEE “Greener Choices” for standout environmental performance within their segments, including the Insight, Honda Fit and Honda Odyssey.

“Honda is honored to have our natural gas vehicle and our hybrid and gasoline-powered vehicles among ACEEE’s ‘Greenest’ and ‘Greener’ choices,” said Steven Center, vice president of the Environmental Business Development Office at American Honda. “The ACEEE’s annual recognition of Honda’s fuel-efficient vehicles further validates our commitment to create a cleaner, more energy-efficient and sustainable transportation future.”
