At first glance, the all-new 2012 Honda Civic may not look too different from its predecessor, but it has received ample changes. In fact, Honda Houston pointed out that it weighs less, it’s more fuel efficient, and it gives consumers even more to love.

While the styling may mimic that of the 2011 model, the ninth-generation Civic features broader shoulders and a more defined rear end. There are more lines and curves, making it more shapely than the outgoing pod-like vehicle that it places.

The latest Civic in undoubtedly more evolutionary than revolutionary, but Honda simply took an already solid product and managed to make it even better in terms of style, ergonomics, and when it comes to amenities.

Coming in at just $17,355, the base sedan model is powered by a 140 horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. This setup helps the Civic achieve an EPA rating of 28 mpg city, 39 mpg highway. If you’re looking for even more miles per gallon, Honda has you covered with the all-new HF model that features better aerodynamics and low rolling resistance tires to help it hit 41 mpg on the highway.

Want even more MPG? You might want to consider the Civic Hybrid, which boasts a more powerful electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. This model has an EPA fuel economy rating of 44 city/44 hwy/44 combined.

The Civic isn’t just about fuel economy, it’s also delivers driving excitement. The new Civic Si, which begins from $22,995 at Honda Alexandria, receives a responsive 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that’s good for 201 horsepower. Sporty features on the Si include heavily-bolstered seats, aluminum pedals, and sequential lights on the dash that light up as you approach the engine’s redline – just like in a Honda-powered IndyCar.

Honda says the new Civic offers something for everyone, and it truly does. The all-new 2012 Civic is in Honda Connecticut showrooms now.
