This week many reports surfaced suggesting that the Honda CR-Z almost didn’t become a reality. One of the largest concerns working against the car is its underwhelming power and efficiency. But ultimately, Honda’s CR-Z hybrid is on its way to showroom, which at least is still satisfying for many Honda performance enthusiasts.
Powered by a 122 horsepower hybrid powertrain, the real question is whether CR-Z, despite its marketing hype, truly deserves being labeled a sports car. However, the way it aggressively handles the Suzuka Circuit, the CR-Z certainly deserves some credit. After all, could the Prius take on these corners as well?
According to folks at Richmond Honda dealers, there seems to be no question that the new CR-Z is anything close to the S2000 or any other sports car of that caliber. But, despite its relatively lackluster performance credentials, the CR-Z is expected to be a spirited (and efficient) vehicle for the $20K price bracket.
